Jody Tuckwell – Production Manager – Machine Shop
My Career first started as an Apprentice at a small family run precision engineering company when I left school, my boss was an ex sergeant major in the marines and he taught me the core foundations of what I still believe in today which is; respect for others, hard work, never stop learning and to share knowledge.

From there I progressed onto an internationally recognised filtration company PALL, specialising in medical, aerospace and nuclear filtration unit design and manufacture. I was able to spent many years here understanding complicated CNC programming methods, design principals, leadership development and other skills which would I use to the best of my ability. I took time out to go travelling around south east Asia, Australia and some of the pacific islands before returning to PALL for another stint.

Eventually New Zealand came calling and it was time to up sticks and see what NZ had to offer, as it turns out… A W Fraser! From 2006-2011 I spent here at A W Fraser learning from some of the best in the industry. I then made the decision to develop myself further by taking a sales role for Sandvik Coromant, the worlds number 1 tooling manufacturer. This enabled me to understand how other businesses in New Zealand operate and gave me a much broader view of our marketplace.

And now, I return to A W Fraser a little bit older, a little bit wiser but with no less drive or determination than when I first arrived, I know that this is a world class business with world class employees and I’m absolutely confident that together we will have a business that other businesses will strive to be
